Postdoctoral Fellow
Cornell University
Brooktondale, New York, United States
Dr. Julien Morival received his Ph.D. degree from University of California, Irvine's biomedical engineering department in 2021, while working under Dr. Timothy Downing. There, he worked on characterizing the molecular and functional consequences of dynamic changes of the epigenome on cell fate (stem cell differentiation) and disease (laminopathies). Julien then joined the Lammerding Lab (Cornell University, Ithaca, NY) in 2021 to apply his biocomputational genomics expertise to study the role of nuclear envelope proteins (like the nuclear lamina) on mechanotransduction mechanisms of cells. In addition, he received an AHA postdoctoral fellowship to perform research to understanding the effect of lamin modulation on mechanotransduction in dilated cardiomyopathy. Dr. Julien Morival is interested in continuing in academia, and will be applying to tenure-track positions in the fall of 2025, with a focus on research.
