Kyung-Hoon (Harry) Kim is a PhD student at the Department of Bioengineering, University of Washington. He received his Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from KAIST, South Korea, and worked as a senior researcher at the Korean National Nanofabrication Center before joining PhD. His expertises cover biomaterials used in medical devices and implants, specifically for the blood-contacting surfaces, and surface analysis. The primary scope of his PhD dissertation is the improvement of blood compatible biomaterial assessment, toward the better understanding of blood-surface interactions with varying fluoropolymers and zwitterionic polymers.
Besides of his PhD research, he is also an expert in microfluidics, molecular diagnostics, and disposable biosensors. He has authored 11 scholarly works, 5 registered Korean patents out of his PhD works.
