Stuart Bauer is a PhD Candidate in the Biomedical Engineering program at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His current research focuses on characterizing application dependent innate and adaptive immune responses to medical-grade biomaterials with the goal of improving implant integration and patient outcomes. Prior to his PhD, Stuart worked as a Research Assistant at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center discovering biomarkers for disease diagnosis in both human patients as well as animals in collaboration with the Cincinnati Zoo and other national zoos.
