I'm a third-year chemical engineering PhD student in the Nance Lab for Disease-Directed Engineering at the UW. My team's work focuses on using nanotechnology as a sensing tool for tissue microstructure in models of brain injury and disease. Our approach treats brain injury and disease as systems of interacting parts. We analyze particle transport in engineered systems designed to isolate individual or combinatorial effects on diffusion in our models. Our goal is to associate pathology with microstructure and reveal new avenues for optimal therapeutic intervention.
