Krista received her B.S. in Bioengineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is now a 4th year PhD student in the lab of Karina Nakayama at Oregon Health and Science University. She is exploring the intersection of aging, biomaterial response, and exercise in the aftermath of severe muscle injury. Krista is the recipient of an ARCS scholarship and an NSF GRFP fellowship. Outside of lab, Krista is a board member of Women in Science Portland, a nonprofit which aims to provide connection, community, and career development for women in STEM.
