ChBE Ph.D. Candidate
Vanderbilt University
Payton Stone, B.S., is a Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Ph.D. Candidate at Vanderbilt University under the direction of Dr. John T. Wilson, Ph.D. Throughout his time as a graduate student, Payton has studied pH-responsive "smart" polymeric drug delivery vehicles and their use for cancer immunotherapies - particularly, the intracellular delivery of innate immune modulators. In addition to his research interests, he is an NSF-GRFP fellow and a previous NIH T32 fellow through the Vanderbilt University Chemical Biology Interface program. He actively serves as the treasurer for the Chemical Biology Association of Students and has previously served as a social chair for the Chemical Engineering Student Association at Vanderbilt University. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and attending live music events in his home city of Nashville.
