PhD Student
University of Michigan Dept. of Biomedical Engineering
Anna Argento (B.S. in Biophysics and Math, M.S. in Biomedical Engineering) is a 4th year PhD Student in the University of Michigan Biomedical Engineering Department working in the Castro-Lowenstein Laboratory in the Neurosurgery Department of the University of Michigan Medical School. Her thesis is titled "Large-Scale Organization of High-Grade Brain Tumors: Oncostreams, Topological Defects, and Their Functions" and aims to study the complex interactions and spatiotemporal patterns within glioblastoma tumors. By incorporating cellular biomechanics, cancer biology, and advanced imaging capabilities we hope to gain a spatiotemporal view of glioblastoma malignant patterns, leading to the development of therapeutic strategies targeting these malignant structures.
