Naoya SAKAMOTO, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Systems Engineering, Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan. He received his Ph. D in mechanical engineering from Tohoku University, Japan, in 2003. He started his professional career at Tohoku University as a research associate in 2003. From 2005 to 2006, he was a visiting research associate at the University of Pittsburgh, USA. He moved to Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare in 2015, and then to Tokyo Metropolitan University in 2015. His research interests are focused on cellular and nuclear mechanobiology, especially relating to the pathophysiology of cardiovascular systems. He is a member of The Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Japanese Society for Medical and Biological Engineering, the Japanese Society of Biorheology, and the Biomedical Engineering Society.
