This work establishes the methodology for transgene-free and non-invasive magnetomechanical neuromodulation for the treatment of neurological disorders. In-vitro studies have shown that MNDs functionalized with bi-functional PEG allow for on-demand excitation of cortical neurons triggered by mechanosensitive ion channels.
