Soheil Hosseini, MSc, is a PhD student in Biomedical Engineering at University of Iowa and a Graduate Research Assistant at the Advanced Pulmonary Physiomic Imaging Lab (APPIL) located at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC). He's earned his bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Tehran and Sharif University of Technology. He's worked several years at PNP-Med, a tech company located at Iran's largest and pioneering hospital, Imam Khomeini hospital, specializing in the design and development of medical imaging equipment, specifically PET and SPECT. He's been involved in research in several fields, from signal and image processing to machine learning and computer vision. His research interests include AI, Medical Imaging, Image Processing, and Mathematical Modeling. He joined the University of Iowa in 2020, where he's working on Segmentation and Separation of Pulmonary Arterial and Venous Trees from Dual-Energy Contrast-Enhanced Chest CT Scans using Deep Neural Networks.
