My research has been focused on developing multiscale (nano, micro, and macro) biomaterials and
devices to engineer the whole spectrum of today’s medicine including small molecules, biomacromolecules
(including proteins, peptides, RNAs, and DNAs), cells (including various immune and stem cells), and tissues
(e.g., islets and follicles) for safe, effective, and controlled (by near infrared, pH, functional biomolecules like
glutathione, and high and low temperatures) delivery to treat/detect cancer, reproductive disorders, pancreatic
diabetes, and cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases under hyperthermic, normothermic, and
hypothermic conditions.
