My name is Ava Marks and I am currently a second year PhD. student at Brown University studying Biomedical Engineering under Dr. Gregory Jay in the Emergency Medicine Lab. I have previously graduated from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth with a Bachelors of Science in Bioengineering. I am currently researching the biophysical and biochemical mechanisms of lubricin (PRG4), being its boundary lubricating and anti-adhesive properties, while also considering its function as an anti-inflammatory factor and immune modulator.
