I,Jordan Womack, am currently an undergraduate researcher in the Johnson Lab and the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and North Carolina State University. One of the projects within the Johnson Lab is identiying a more robust and accessible method for detecting diabetic kidney disease within its early stages. My research is primarily focused on in vitro assay development using Alpha technology to validate nanodroplets that are targeted to disease biomarkers in the kidney. I presented the early stages of my work through a poster presentation last year at the 2022 BMES Annual Conference. After graduation I am interested a career on the industry side of biomedical engineering.
