Research Assistant
Washington State University
Seattle, Washington, United States
I graduated with my BS in Bioengineering at Washington State University in May 2022. After graduating, I worked under Dr. Anita Vasavada and Dr. David Lin as a research assistant. My projects under Dr. Vasavada were researching the head and neck. I worked on investigating the effects of scaling on the head and neck, estimating cervical vertebral pose from external measurements, and using Python to interact with the OpenSim API to do inverse kinematics on the neck from past experiments. My work with Dr. Lin primarily consisted of setting up analysis pipelines. I set up DeepLabCut for extracting kinematics from our videos, wrote Python scripts to align different streams of data, standardized our labeling procedure with BORIS, explored the use of prediction models to label the gait cycle, and explored the applicability of dimensional reduction for elucidating the coordination of the kangaroo rat tail during bipedal hopping.
I am currently a mechanical engineering master's student at the University of Washington in Seattle. I am planning on doing a thesis with Dr. Christine Agresta. Outside of academics, I enjoy running, cycling, reading, and learning new things about the world around me.
