My name is Seong Hyun Moon, Ph.D. and I am a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in Biomedical/Medical Engineering at Arizona State University, with a demonstrated history of working on a variety of projects alongside government agencies and companies. Throughout my doctoral studies, my objective was to conduct research on motion biomechanics, focusing on measuring and analyzing human gait, posture, physical activity levels during Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and sleep quality. To accomplish this, I have concentrated on using various technologies, such as 3D motion capture systems, wearable devices, inertial measurement units (IMUs), electromyography (EMG), and force plates. In addition, I have developed a diverse skill set that includes proficiency in a variety of tools and platforms such as Matlab, Arduino, LabVIEW, Python, JMP, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office.
The main objective is to apply my knowledge and expertise to aid and support frail elderly individuals who are susceptible to falling, by detecting and averting possible risks of falling. Additionally, I intend to aid in the rehabilitation of the patient through the implementation of motion biomechanics.
