Jeffrey Ma is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He is working with Professor Lonnie Shea on characterizing the role of immune cells in cancer metastasis and developing biomaterial immunotherapies for targeting cancer-associated inflammation. Jeffrey received his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Davis, where he worked with Professor Jamal Lewis on microparticulate strategies for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Jeffrey is interested in the application of biomaterials towards the development of novel immunotherapies and pharmaceuticals, and has previously worked at pharmaceutical companies such as Verseon and Takeda.
