Emilio A. Mendiola works in the Computational Cardiovascular Bioengineering Lab at Texas A&M University, led by Dr. Reza Avazmohammadi. Mendiola's research involves developing patient-specific computational models of the cardiovascular system to better understand multiscale cardiac adaptation to structural heart disease. His current work focuses on understanding how the heart adapts to the pressure-overload caused by pulmonary hypertension and how to leverage this knowledge to develop improved therapies.
