Jacqueline Avila is a senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She currently performs computational research at UTSA in the Vascular Biomechanics and Biofluids Lab under the guidance of Dr. Ender Finol. She is highly interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Bioengineering to continue performing research on vascular/cardiovascular biomechanics. Previously, she participated in the 2022 UT Austin NASCENT Research Experience for Undergraduates Program and the 2023 Stanford Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship Program. Apart from research, she participates in several organizations, including the Biomedical Engineering Society and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, biking, and reading.
