Vikram Surendran is originally from Tamil Nadu, India. He received his master’s degree in Bioengineering from the North Carolina A&T State University, USA; where he started his career as a biomedical researcher by joining the Bioinspired Microengineering Laboratory (BIOMELAB). His master's research focuses on the field of micro-engineering, and organ-on-chip technology, with a particular focus on advancing tumor microenvironment and Neutrophil Extracellular Traps(NETs). Later, Vikram joined the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine(WFIRM), USA in the Fall of 2021 in pursuit of a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. His doctoral research revolves around the fabrication of high-throughput micro engineering-assisted bio-mimetic platforms for modeling the immune/pathophysiology functionalities of pulmonary toxicity and diseases.
