Gening Dong is a Ph.D. student at Cornell Univerity who has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.) and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (M.S.). She graduated in 2020 from Tongji University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering. During her undergraduate studies, she participated in several design projects, including an automatic speed-regulating driver module and a dish delivery robot with a sensor detection system and control system. In her junior year, she joined the National Undergraduate Innovation Training Program. Her team developed a multi-axis sensor device for the accurate evaluation of cervical dystonia in collaboration with the neurology department at Tongji Hospital. A National Utility Patent was granted to the device. In addition to her academic pursuits, she also worked as a mechanical engineering intern at Philips Healthcare, BMW Brilliance, and Siemens Healthineers during the summers.
Gening joined the Cardiovascular Developmental Bioengineering Laboratory under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Butcher in 2021. She graduated from Cornell University with a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and entered the Ph.D. program in August. Her research focuses on understanding the fluid and mechanical forces driving cardiac morphogenesis via computational modeling.
