Stanford University
Stanford, California, United States
Hope T. Leng received her B.S. in Bioengineering: Biotechnology from the University of California, San Diego and is currently a Bioengineering PhD candidate, advised by Dr. Manu Prakash, at Stanford University. Her research aims to advance global health equity and increase resilience in resource-constrained communities, which are disproportionately affected by climate change. Her current work will enable distributed biological manufacturing of ultra low-cost point-of-care devices to diagnose high-burden diseases such as malaria, tuberculosis, and schistosomiasis. She has also founded and led many STEAM outreach programs to promote retention of underrepresented and minority students in STEM at the high school, community college, and university-level.
