Graduate Research Assistant
University of Florida
Gainesville, Florida, United States
Harrison Broadaway is a 2nd year doctoral student in the J. Clayton Pruitt Family Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Florida. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. Harrison now works with Dr. Brittany Taylor to research reparative therapeutics for musculoskeletal tissues, specifically tendons. As a member of the Taylor Lab, Harrison is interested in fabricating biomaterials to mimic tendinous extracellular matrices and subjecting the engineered biomaterials to physiological loads to evaluate the effect of microarchitectural changes on cellular phenotype. Additionally, he was recently awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowships Program (GRFP) grant to investigate the characterization of tendon-derived extracellular vesicles in response to mechanical loading.
