Undergraduate Researcher
Brown University
Providence, Rhode Island, United States
Niyanta Nepal is a 3rd-year student at Brown University on track to get her Biomedical Engineering S.c.B and Education Studies AB. She has spent the past year working on two research projects. One research project was focused on Team Player Style Identification as a Means to Anticipate Challenges in Biomedical Engineering Capstone Design Teams by utilizing the framework established by Glenn Parker in his book Teams and Team Players to help students identify the personal styles they are integrating across their team and to anticipate challenges that may arise. This research allowed her to explore the intersection between her majors in a concrete way during her undergraduate experience. She is also researching SERS-based Hydrogel Sensor for Rapid Detection of Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria through the Shukla Lab for Biomaterials at Brown, is a leader of Students for Educational Equity on campus, and is a departmental undergraduate leader for Education Studies. Outside of that, she is a tour guide and campus center programmer at Brown allowing her to cultivate community in various ways on campus.
