Geena Ildefonso is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Southern California in the Computational Systems Biology Lab. Her work focuses on understanding the complex tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancer using computational modeling. Before USC, Geena obtained her PhD in Systems Biology at Vanderbilt University focusing on understanding signaling crosstalk in cell fate decisions in small cell lung cancer. Outside of the lab, Geena has a passion for DEI initiatives, where she helped develop a pilot program for underrepresented high school students ease the transition to college by creating a 4 week program for students to take college courses and connect with faculty and other college students.
