Akari J. Seiner is a third year PhD student studying Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University in the Tissue Instructive Materials Laboratory with Dr. Christopher Rodell. Her current research interests include pediatric and cardiovascular engineering, medical device development, and biomaterials. Her research project involves the development and characterization of covalently crosslinked photoresponsive hydrogels for use in pediatric heart reconstruction surgeries for newborns with single ventricle defects.
