Graduate Student
UC Davis
Davis, California, United States
Alessandra holds a B.Sc. in Health Sciences and Technology with a focus in Medical Technology and an M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering specializing in Molecular Bioengineering from ETH Zürich, and is currently a PhD student in Cheemeng Tan's lab at UC Davis. During her bachelor’s degree, she engaged in projects, exploring angiogenesis within exercise and nutrition. Her research continued in Dr. Simone Schürle-Finke’s lab, where she developed a novel drug delivery platform using magnetotactic bacteria and mechanosensitive lipid nanocarriers. Alessandra joined lino Biotech post-graduation, a startup developing a new optical biosensor. There, she worked on product design and development as an application scientist. Currently, in Dr. Tan’s lab, her focus lies in the development of high-throughput platforms for synthetic vesicle functional assessment in therapeutic contexts.
