My name is Zack Harmer, and I'm a graduate student in the McClean Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am interested in expanding the optogenetic toolkit by developing novel optogenetic actuators and combining optogenetics with laboratory automation techniques. I am developing methods for multiplexing optogenetic signals by taking advantage of the native differences in their kinetics and applying this to control biological behavior.
