Sofia Vignolo received her Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami in 2018. Following graduation, she worked as a research data manager in the Precision Vaccines Program at Boston Children's Hospital. In 2020, she joined the Medical Scientist Training Program at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). As an ARCS (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) scholar, Sofia is a rising 4th-year MD-PhD student in Dr. Luiz Bertassoni's lab. Her research interests are in craniofacial surgery and engineering, specifically bone regeneration. Outside of lab, she has been involved in many leadership positions like being president of the Biomedical Engineering Society Student Chapter at OHSU and program coordinator of Partnership for Scientific Inquiry, a program focused on teaching research basics to high school students.
