PhD Candidate
Cornell University
Amy Laflin is currently a PhD candidate in the Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering at Cornell University. She performs research in a biomaterials and drug delivery lab, and specifically focuses on cancer immunotherapy development. Amy’s research addresses several key issues in the immunotherapy field including decreasing toxicity, increasing targeting to specific immune cells, and overcoming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. Her current research focuses on activating the anti-tumor properties of the innate immune system via trained immunity. Amy is working toward creating one therapy that can effectively activate the innate and adaptive immune system’s anti-tumor responses simultaneously to increase inflammation in solid tumors.
