Qi Yang is a Ph.D. candidate of chemical & biological engineering at the state university of New York at buffalo. Qi Yang is focused on the studies of glycosylation of SARS-CoV-2 Spike (S) protein, and SARS-CoV-2 virus-like-particles (VLPs) system. S protein glycans are important for viral function, upon the implementing of Asn to Gln mutation, N-glycans could be removed from the S protein surface, whereby the roles of specific N-glycans regarding viral function could be understood. VLPs could be used for payload delivery, which could be either RNA or protein. By optimizing the SARS-CoV-2 VLPs systems, a new delivery method by using VLPs into target cells could be exploited regarding therapeutic aims.
