Hi, I'm Derek Avery. I am a 3rd year Ph.D. candidate and Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University. I work under the advisory of Dr. Rene Olivares-Navarette, and our laboratory explores the inflammatory response to biomaterial implantation and regeneration. My specific research focuses on the role of T cells and associated subsets in the inflammatory response and healing.
