Mr. Shahid Khan is a dedicated and accomplished Post-Doc Researcher in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis, working under the esteemed mentorship of Dr. Cheemeng Tan. His research focuses on the cutting-edge field of synthetic biology, specifically in engineering cyborg bacteria - non-proliferative yet metabolically active bacteria - for therapeutic applications.
Shahid earned his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree with a specialization in Genetic Engineering from SRM University, India and pursued his passion for scientific exploration by completing a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology. His journey in the world of research led him to the research group of Prof. Jha at the Department of Biological Sciences, Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Pilani Campus, India, where he embarked on his doctoral research adventure.
During his Ph.D. pursuit, Shahid was awarded the prestigious CSIR-NET fellowship, and qualifying in various national competitive exams, underscoring his passion for academic achievement.
