Kaveh Laksari is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran in Iran. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Temple University in 2014 and moved to Stanford University from 2014-2017 as a postdoctoral scholar. His research involves the areas of traumatic brain injury, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease, using a combination of wearable sensors, medical imaging, computational modeling, and machine learning for better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of brain diseases. He is a recipient of several federal and private research fundings, including the NIH NIBIB Trailblazer award.
