Graduate Student
University of Washington and University of Kansas
I graduated from the University of Missouri in 2018 with a degree in Biological Engineering. I began my college reserach investigating the roll of NAMPT, a protein in the NAD+ synthesis pathway, iin ALS pathology. I then moved to a lab which developed novel biosensors to rapidly investigate chemotherapeutic agents. After college, I spent a year at the Kansas City VA Hospital, studying the role of cariodtropin-like cytokine (CLC) on micgroglia to better understand the pathogenesis of traumatic brain injuries. In 2019, I joined the MD-PhD program at the University of Kansas. I started my PhD in 2021 and joined the lab of Dr. Jennifer Robinson. My current research focuses on the innate immune response to biomaterials used for tissue engineering and how we can modulate that reaction to create desirable outcomes. In 2023, our lab relocated to the University of Washington in Seattle.
