Research Fellow on SicklED Research Team
Lehigh University
Anjali Shah is a fourth year bioengineering student (Class of 2024) from Holmdel, NJ in the P.C Rossin School of Engineering at Lehigh University on the pre-medical track with a concentration in biomaterials and biomechanics. She hopes the problem-solving skills she learns as an engineer will allow her to grow into a well-rounded physician. Anjali has always had a deep interest in global health and medicine, and the SicklED research project encapsulates her bioengineering major with her interest in medicine. She traveled to Sierra Leone in August 2022 with the other team members, gaining more insight on the perception and prevalence of sickle cell disease and the healthcare system in Sierra Leone. Aside from academics, Anjali enjoys singing and dancing. She is a dancer on Leela Indian Fusion Dance. She also serves as Internal Chair of Lehigh's South Asian Student Association. Additionally, she is a member of BMES at Lehigh, Enable, and LeMed club.
