Jillian Collins, MS is from Maple Valley, Washington and is currently a PhD Candidate in chemical engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. She earned her undergraduate degree in chemical engineering at the Florida Institute of Technology while also a varsity student athlete in swimming. Her undergraduate research focused on developing bioglass incorporated collagen bioinks for 3D bioprinting research. Her graduate research is improving targeted delivery of therapeutics to patients with Type 1 Diabetes. The majority of her thesis work is developing an interchangable nanoparticle drug delivery system capable of directly targeting and delivering cargo of interest (hydrophobic and hyrdophilic) to pancreatic beta cells (patent application number: 63/428,319).
