Postdoctoral Research Associate
The University of Mississippi
It is my great pleasure to introduce myself as Dr. Sk Arif Mohammad, a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, The University of Mississippi, USA. I did my Ph.D. at the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai. I am an interdisciplinary scientist with broad knowledge of synthesis of well-defined smart functional polymer-based materials via different controlled polymerization techniques such as reversible deactivation radical polymerization (RDRP, including ATRP and RAFT) and living cationic polymerization and their characterization by different analytical instruments such as size exclusion chromatography, NMR/IR spectroscopy, optical microscopy, AFM, SEM and TEM. I have engaged the whole time of my Ph.D. to synthesize a different kind of block copolymer and characterized their stimuli-responsive nature with respect to various external stimuli like pH, temperature, light, etc. I have also been involved in studying the potential applications of the produced polymer-based materials. In my postdoctoral research, I have developed various stimuli-responsive biomaterials (including polymeric nanoparticles, hydrogel, polymeric scaffolds, etc) via RDRP techniques for drug and gene delivery applications.
