Dr. Neda Mohaghegh received her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. Her research career was initiated in 2010 when developing novel nano agents with antimicrobial properties as treatments. Dr. Mohaghegh is a chemist scientist at synthesizing and optimizing novel nano agents for environmental and biological treatment. During > 3 years as Professor of chemistry at Azad University, Tehran, she supervised > 10 theses in PhD and master, and contributed > 25 research publications. Over 3 years at the university, she was devoted to teaching in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biophysics, and Special Courses. She intensively cooperated through administrative commissions and as the director of the Department of Physical Chemistry. Her studies in metal oxide nanosol dispersion technologies for environmental treatment started in 2018 at Hokkaido University, Japan when she developed a novel nano MOF-based platform. In the same laboratory, she also developed a special polymer-based platform for antimicrobial properties in dark condition. Dr. Mohaghegh joined Dr. Khademhosseini's lab at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation (TIBI) in 2022 as a researcher. Her research is focused on the chemical synthesis of polymer-based Nano Biopolymers. Since 2022, her expertise in metal oxide and polymers has been utilized in developing polymer-based nanoparticle platforms to treat brain cancer and obesity. These developed polymer-based platforms have been used to deliver pharmaceutical and other cargo to tissues and cells at TIBI laboratories.
