Sophie Blackburn is an MSTP (E-19) student at the University of Washington, currently in her 3rd year of a PhD in bioengineering. She works in the Freedman lab, and her thesis project is focused on the vascularization of hPSC-derived kidney organoids. Long-term, Sophie is interested in working to make artificial organs a reality to help address the global organ shortage.
