The purpose of this session is to give attendees a research- and practice-informed approach to equitable faculty hiring. The targeted audience for this search is faculty search committee members, chairs, department and institutional leadership, and any faculty who engage in the faculty search process. Although this session focuses on ways individuals involved with the process can implement equitable and inclusive faculty hiring, conference attendees who are interested in learning about the (often mysterious) tenure-track faculty search process (e.g., graduate students, postdocs) can also benefit. The learning outcomes of this session are: 1. Understanding how the equitable hiring roadmap can help search committees reduce bias and enable a fairer search 2. Identifying attendees’ own institutional values and faculty hiring processes 3. Providing a framework for attendees to evaluate their own institutional values and faculty hiring processes to identify opportunities or barriers for equitable hiring 4. Creating a plan for attendees to enact change in their institutions’ and departments’ faculty hiring processes based on best practices and research
