By any metric, Biomedical Engineering is the most diverse discipline within engineering. As such, we have both a challenge and an opportunity to re-envision engineering training. We must adapt to not only the growing needs of our community but those of society at large. This talk will explore how the needs of a diverse community can be the ideal inspiration for innovation. I will also discuss ways conflict and resistance can be managed to build better community inclusion. The goal is to leave this talk with strategies for synergizing social, structural, and scientific innovation in the biomedical workforce.
