    The blood-brain barrier (BBB) functions as a strict boundary, carefully regulating the transport of both exogenous and endogenous factors in and out of the cerebrovasculature. The representation of occlusive events simulating ischemic conditions within the brain remains limited within 3D in vitro setups. In this study, we have developed a 3D model of human brain microvessels using induced brain microvascular endothelial cells (iBMECs) embedded in a collagen hydrogel channel. This model is coupled with a linear actuator system, facilitating precise mechanical occlusions of microvessels to replicate ischemic scenarios, offering the opportunity to investigate alterations in cellular responses and overall functional changes in the BBB.
