The Center for Modular Manufacturing of Structural Tissues (CM2OST) is an NCBIB center funded by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. CM2OST is a consortium between the Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and the Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). The goals of CM2OST are to develop, demonstrate and deploy novel technologies to enable a Quality-by-Design approach to the manufacturing of a wide variety of structural tissues. The Center provides a nexus of capabilities where researchers from local, national, and international labs (both academic and industrial), can efficiently access information, receive assistance with planning and methods, and utilize specialized facilities to help evaluate their tissue. The following areas are emphasized: (1) Cell Fabrication. (2) Sensor-Enabled Scaffolds. (3) Bio-instructive Bioreactors. (4) Tissue Fabrication in the Foundry.
